New Permanency Support and Preservation Model (2014)

New Permanency Support and Preservation Model The National Resource Center for Adoption developed this new model in an effort to help child welfare agencies enhance their systems to include comprehensive continuums of care that prepare, support, and encourage permanency from entry to exit.  The Permanency Support and Preservation Model provides a framework for permanency service-related practice and embodies a solution-focused approach concentrating on prevention.  The following three components of the model are designed to strengthen permanency and decrease disruption and dissolution of adoptions and guardianship: (1) Guiding Principles; (2) Framework for Developing a Continuum of Sustainable Permanency-Focused Services; and (3) Path to Positive Adoption/Guardianship Outcomes.  (2014)
