IEP Building Block C: What are Special Factors and why do I need to know for the IEP? The IEP team members, including parents and those they invite, must list the special factors to be considered for each individual child and what services should be given to support the child. Participants will get a copy of the Special Factors section of General Student Information page of the IEP document. Using the Special Factors/GSI section of the IEP document, the IEP team will consider: behavior, child who speaks other languages, communication needs, self-help skills, social skills, assistive technology, health care plans and more. Join us to learn how to use the Special Factors block of the GSI section to meet your child's unique needs. Thursday, June 16, 2011 |
