Parents: You are included in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as a key member of your child's IEP team. Being able to locate the facts about state regulations for IDEA and other policies and guidelines can help increase your confidence and ability as an equal member of the IEP team. The Louisiana Department of Education (LDE) website includes Bulletins and Handbooks that districts use to decide eligibility and services for your child. On this virtual tour of the LDE website, LaPTIC staff will help you learn to navigate the site, find the bulletins and other resources, and use the information you find to participate in the IEP process.
